Hi, I am John Knopick.
ServiceNow Integration & Observability Architect. Fenrith is my consulting practice. I have spent 13+ years in enterprise IT, growing from ServiceNow-based support into platform engineering, observability, and integration automation.
What I bring
Four years as Senior Observability Engineer at Universal Music Group, where I was the primary Datadog and BigPanda subject-matter expert for global, business-critical platforms. There I reduced alert noise by about 70% (my prior employee work) through metric normalization, tagging strategy, and correlation rules, led OpenTelemetry instrumentation strategy, implemented SLOs tied to business workflows, and owned incident response tooling and runbooks.
Today I design and build event-driven integrations across ServiceNow, GitLab, and JIRA using REST APIs, webhooks, and OAuth, including IntegrationHub Spoke work promoted through Dev, Test, and Prod with regression testing.
Earlier, I designed and built a ServiceNow VIP concierge platform for a major media organization, and implemented Datadog monitoring and KPI dashboards across cloud, container, and application layers.

How I work
Remote (US Central), async-first, commercial clients. Fully remote since 2022. Self-directed on scoped proofs of concept. Clear written communication through runbooks, status updates, and post-incident documentation.
